The PCAN-GPS is a programmable GPS CAN bus sensor module for determining position and orientation. Sampled data can be transmitted on a CAN bus and logged on the internal memory card.
The PCAN-GPS features the NXP LPC4000 series micro-controller.
This sensor includes
- GPS satellite receiver
- magnetic field sensor
- accelerometer
- gyroscope
The PCAN-GPS is shipped with Demo Firmware that transmits the raw data of the sensors periodically on the CAN bus. Custom firmware can be created using the supplied library and Yagarto GNU ARM tool-chain which contains the GNU Compiler Collection GCC for C and C . Example source code is provided. With custom firmware there are many possibilities for manipulating, evaluating, filtering the sensor data, and for routing of the CAN traffic.
Firmware is downloaded into the unit over the CAN bus; users will need a Peak PC Interface, such as the and a to download their firmware into the PCAN-GPS.
